Charlie took the card and glanced it over. It had her home adress on it? That was...
....Odd. What kind of person carries around buisness cards with their Name, Adress, and Phone number? Granted, phones really didnt work anymore, but Charlie considered it a moot point.
But then he noticed; the Animal Rehibilitation Center. Which begged the question, how wild was the wildlife that she shared her living space with? Did she have a bengal tiger just chilling out with her on the couch?
Charlie considered making a comment, but restrained. After all, two days ago he had been yelling at an apple.
"Well, Thanks!" He said. "I look forward to being mangled by your malicious menagerie of metal monstrosities."
He bit his lip. Did he really just say that?
"Er," He said, trying to salvage the blatant aliteration, "I mean, swing by and get stabbed real nice by your traps."
Stabbed real nice? Despite his better judgement he decided to give it one more try.
"What I mean, is that your traps must be very sharp."
What exactly did that mean anyway?
"Er, I'm just going to stand over here now." He said, walking back over to his laithe. He removed the bat and insterted the steel piece, soon to be spike.

Sally giggled again, putting her hand over her mouth. She honestly found him charming, in the way one finds a little lost kitten to be charming. Had she truly dumbfounded him so?
"I would prefer it that you don't get hurt by my traps...hence why letting me know in advance before coming over, and certainly don't walk onto the property without me." She followed him to an extent, staying back so as not to invade his personal space. "What's that you're working on? Seems awful lethal, for one who seems perplexed by my personal weaponry..."

"Ah, this?" Charlie said, back in his natural element, "Just a little something for the rats."
He set the bat on the floor with a small thud. With a kick of the brake, he set the lathe in motion, spinning the steel rod very quickly.
"I'd tell you about my place, but well, It really isnt my place...." He said, "I'm sort of borrowing it from an unknown fellow for the time being.... It's actually more of an office then a room per-se."
He slowly began to make a slight incision into the cylender, making the end of the rod into a cone, and ever so slowly into a spike.
"I actually have a card I could give you, but unfortunately, It has absolutely no relavent information on it, except where I used to work."
He looked to his right and smiled back at her.
"Unfortunately, none of that seems to matter anymore..." He said, almost wistfully.

She smiled softly a his wistfulness, remembering her life before the Shutdown. It WAS simpler, and she didn't have to leave her home so often...or worry about her traps being sprung. Plus, she'd never before killed a ma-anyway.
"Well...that just means starting anew..." She trailed off as Emmy came bolting into the back, past the partition, eyes wide. Well, that was rude. But, she seemed to have a reason, so Sally let it slide.
"Hello again, Emmy! It's good to see you in good health." A rather cheerful smile was offered to Emmy, despite Sally's minor annoyance, "No, you're not interrupting anything. I was just getting to know Charlie here."

Emmy laughed nervously. She felt so guilty about it, too. After he'd gone and been such a gentleman to her -- something she hadn't seen in weeks -- she'd stupidly lost the fruits of his...
"OH!" She felt a wave of relief flood her system. She picked up the shiny piece, feeling even MORE stupid, if such a thing was humanly possible.
"Well... I found it, so... I'll leave you guys alone." Sally had seemed a little annoyed with her intrusion, and despite the fact that there were the two friendliest people she'd run into, her structures and moral instructed her to excuse herself.

Sally sighed softly, then resumed her smile, strolling over to Emmy and catching her by gently touching her shoulder. "Don't go just yet. You're as welcome here as either one of us, when you think about it." She turned her smile to Charlie, before returning to Emmy. "Besides, I don't think either Charlie or myself don't want your company."
She softened her tone, her smile taking on a slight edge of sadness, "...And...in these times...don't you think it's safer to be with other people who you know won't hurt you, then worrying about social standards?"

Charlie smiled benignly, stopping the laithe and walking over as well.
"C'mon, listen to Sally, ain't no harm in sticking around... besides, if you leave well.... you have to go by them again." He said, lifting his nose up at the mass of people on the othe side of the devider.
He picked a piece of steel shaving off of himself, and playfully flicked it at her, holding his smile steady.

Making a face at this completely awful possibility, Emmy turned to the pair.
"An excellent point. So, what's happened since my... well... clumsy mistake?" She sat on an odd, purposeless wooden block, eying her two -- kinda sorta almost -- friends.
Mentally reminding herself to slump and look less... refined, she ungracefully awaited a reply. Since she was stuck there until the gross group dispersed, and because she was somewhat invited (a prospect that slightly excited her), Emmy smiled and patiently sat.

Sally smiled, resuming the seat she'd taken before, pulling out a bag of doritos from her big white bag, and popping it open. Oooh, she missed having it with sour cream...but sometimes, ya gotta make do with what ya have. A chip found its way to her mouth, before she smiled to Emmy.
"..Well...I came here to get some supplies for the traps in my yard, but was accosted rather rudely for my efforts. Fortunately, Charlie here stepped forward, which alarmed the men enough to leave me alone. And, now that Charlie's had something to eat, he's doing a lot better than he was when I first showed up." More chips, when she was finished talking.

"Well, I was just getting to the Bay Tower where..." Hello, keeping the identity quiet? "...where the Starbucks with the broken blender is." Sally's been there, that makes sense. They don't have to know I was planning to 'borrow' it for upstairs. ...Damn, now I feel guilty again.
Darting her eyes away for a second, she continued, "I looked down, and it was gone. And it'd be pointless to try to fix it without the part."
